Southern Cross
In general the cross is identified as a christian symbol for suffering, crucifixion and sacrifice. It is worn around the neck, has been prayed to for centuries and is one of the oldest symbols still in use, layered with endless meanings.
This cross however, located near the most Southern tip of Africa, supports the washing line for the people in a fishing village. Already weathered by the harsh onshore winds it stands proud overlooking the coastline. Has it ever been prayed to?
